Revenge 1.13: Commitment

I had been thinking, in Revenge, was the only way things could possibly end … not happily, but not in total devastation, was if Victoria admitted the truth.

Which isn’t going to happen.

Emily now thinks Victoria is claiming her father raped her. Maybe that’s even what the audience is meant to think she’s doing, but I don’t know. I read that scene as Victoria as genuinely being overwhelmed and unable to explain why. It wasn’t her being manipulative (but it was her taking the easy way out and not correcting her son’s misunderstanding).

Everything Emily does can’t make it right, and Victoria telling the truth is the only thing that can make the future better.

But Victoria has far, far too much to lose.
